It’s never comparing that is a nice game to an infinitely superior peer – especially when that name scored an uninspiring 6/10 on this very site. Professional Farmer 2017 is so mind-bogglingly bad, though, it makes Simulator that is farming 15 like Game for the Year in contrast. This can be a cash-grab that is cynical to capitalize on the surprise success of Giants Software’s simulation – and, quite frankly, it stinks.
In fact, this surely has to be in the running for the PlayStation that is worst 4 launch of the year to date; it is so atrociously awful that we’ve actually invested additional review time investigating all of our concerns, certain that we have made a mistake. But no, it really can be appallingly awful as we feared – the known reality that it’s retailing for £34.99 is just a bit of the disgrace
First, the positives: you’ll decide on a frog as your in-game avatar, you can customise the paintwork on your own tractors, plus the insecticide mechanic is really a touch that is nice all three are, to the best of this author’s knowledge, perhaps not currently present in competing sims. Awarded, during our considerable playtime, we never ever really needed to ply poison– to our crops but at least the Chance’s there. Apparently.
The negatives, then: everything else. One of the things that make the Farming Simulator series so enjoyable is its economy that is the easy system. For example, each installment has various landmarks where you’ll need to trade your goods in order to earn cash; offer a lot of wheat at the pub that is local while the nearby place could be ready to cover more for the commodity – you get the theory.
There’s none of that in Professional Farmer 2018– just one store willing to get your grain at a price that is fixed. Okay. Perhaps not that there’s any point in generating revenue in the destination that is first while there are a dizzying number of gear and equipment choices for you to acquire in Farming Simulator, you’ll find a mere a small number of tractors and combine harvesters right here – many of which aren’t even licensed.

Summary: Professional Farmer 2018 is rather disappointing to state the least. You receive very variety that is little all you do, the same process is fully gone through for each style of farm and crop. The surroundings are flat, bland and require loading that is multiple to get around. However, it does get several things right such as the slight focus that is additional animals and being able to care for them. Another function could be the infestation/infections on crops them more instead than planting and being completed with it so you have to just take care of. Those features are good improvements however with it’s just alternative being Farming Simulator, which costs only about £5 more for the game that is latest which includes, even more, features and it is better overall it is hard to justify purchasing this game. Especially when the Farming that is brand new Simulator coming away this year and has, even more, features than the last and in addition includes co-op, unlike Professional Farmer. Hopefully, the next one will have a lot more work done it takes it about it because.
